Henry Barton, the oldest son of Floyd and Ellen Barton, was born August of 1858 in Bibb County, Georgia. For seven years of his life, he was forced to submit to a lifestyle that would have a strong effect on his life.
Elbert Barton, Sr. was the second child and son born to Floyd and Ellen Barton in 1859 in Macon, Georgia. He married Alice Vinson, daughter of Ben and Laura Vinson.
Gillian Barton, the oldest daughter of Floyd and Ellen Barton. She came into this world in May of 1862, three years before the freeing of slaves. Known for her heavy hands and a loving heart.
Tallulah Barton was the fourth child born to Floyd and Ellen Barton in May of 1865 in Macon, Georgia. Affectionately called Lula or “Lu”, she was one of two girls in a family of six.
Elizah Barton, born 1867 in Macon, Georgia, was the last child born to Floyd and Ellen Barton. Unfortunately, the only information known about him and his family was extracted from Census Records and Marriage Records at the Georgia State Archives.
In her later years, this lady would be known to her grandchildren and some great-grandchildren as Grandma Wicky. Often described as a clean, neat and little old lady, Grandma Wicky came into this world around the year 1834 and was given the name Ellen.
